#TransformationTuesday: Lashed Out Beauty Queen

Hola my lovlies!

So, I did this thing and wanted to share my experience with you all.

For those of you who have followed me for a while on social media you might remember me mentioning me getting my weave installs here and there. I was not shy about sharing how bomb I felt with my hair extensions both braided and braid-less. Meanwhile some of you may not have even known I used to put hair extensions in cause you couldn’t really tell by looking at me but I did.

For the most part I loved it but eventually opted to let my natural hair breathe and take it easy on my pockets.

I say that to say I had a very similar experience thus far with lash extensions. I LOVE THEM! I Feel like Beyoncé with lash extensions to be honest. No one can tell me anything with these bad boys.

When Mervé my lash tech asked what I wanted I told her I was looking for a natural classic set with a cat eye effect to accentuate my almond eye shape. I wanted glam but natural just as I would’ve wanted my weave installed.

My motto is “If I paid for it, its mine” so I wanted to make sure they were glam but still as natural as possible. Luckily I had an amazing lash tech to do mine for the first time.

To say I was nervous was an understatement. I wasn’t sure what to expect because it was my first time. I’ve had the option to do it before but I’ve always just opted not to. My main concerns were loss of my natural lashes when removing the extensions and the process on installing the extension.

Upon arriving to the studio I felt a little more relaxed. The room was super cute and comfortable. There was soothing music playing and I was ready to get started.

I’m going to try to break down the process but might miss a step or two, here’s the jist:

First she placed two cool aloe pads under my eyes and began to clean my lashes. Mervé knew I was nervous so my sweet friend walked me through each step which really made me feel even more at ease.

She warned me the most uncomfortable part might be when she had to tape down my bottom lashes which turned out to be perfectly fine. There was no pain and it wasn’t as uncomfortable as I thought it might be.

After that all that’s really left is putting on the extensions with glue and that was literally nothing.

When I tell you 2 hours passed and I swear it felt like 30 minutes max I mean it. I was so relaxed and we had a great conversation. When I saw the results I was so damn excited to go home and show my man. Especially because I had to keep my eyes closed that whole time unable to text him my excitement. She exceeded my expectations and it just looked so good! I felt like a celebrity like I was ready for a glass of wine at a fancy restaurant somewhere in LA.

The top picture is before and bottom was after.

Im not sure if lash extensions would be something I do during allergy season cause im not trying to rub my lashes off but deffinitly something I would try again especially for trips and events. Its like having coats of mascara without mess and I love it.

Right now these lashes seem to be the new craze. When I was in middle school my mom had gotten a set of lash extensions done and I remember wanting to do it too. She was already so beautiful and it just accentuated her natural beauty even more. After the tech was done I remember saying I wanted to get it done but was told my lashes were already full and long that I didn’t need it.

Was she right? Yes, in a way because I didn’t need them in the sense that I was too young first off but secondly they were full and long already. As an adult I still don’t technically need them as my lashes are still pretty long and full but I wanted to see what it was about. Just as did in high school with hair extensions.

Never be afraid to try new things and decide for yourself what you need or don’t. How will you truly learn without experience. If you have been curious about lash extensions I say go for it!
